Richard Patrick Tolton II - Biography

Born in Dryden and raised in Kenora, Ontario, Richard Patrick Tolton II is a Canadian actor and filmmaker whose career is proof that it's never too late to switch sides of the camera. Before stepping into the spotlight, he spent years behind it - working as a broadcast technician on cruise ships and later as a television news cameraman, capturing other people's stories while quietly writing his own.

During the pandemic, Richard decided to stop filming the drama and start being it. He returned to school to study acting and quickly built momentum, landing six commercials, four feature films, and the lead role in a television series within his first year. His growing list of credits includes appearances in Surreal Estate (SyFy), The Boy in the Woods, Ripping Off Othello, All the Lost Ones, and Pavlov's Dogs.

Based in Northern Ontario, Richard also operates RPT2 Productions: The Droid You're Looking For, a boutique studio creating short films and documentaries with a cinematic edge. Known for his mix of grit, humor, and relentless drive, he jokes that his career took off "about the same time my hairline didn't."

When he's not acting, Richard can usually be found at his cabin on Lake of the Woods, golfing in long-drive competitions, lifting heavy things for no practical reason, or blacksmithing - because, as he says, "Thor shouldn't have all the fun."
