Scarborough Garden & Horticultural Society
The Scarborough Garden & Horticultural Society (SGHS) is a proud affiliate of the Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA), serving the community from 1925 through 2026. As a not-for-profit organization, SGHS is dedicated to fostering a greater interest in gardening and horticulture as both a rewarding hobby and a source of recreation.
Our mission is to beautify the community, promote the benefits of therapeutic gardening for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from illness, and inspire youth to develop an appreciation for nature and gardening.
Our monthly meetings offer a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, filled with socializing, laughter, shared advice and wisdom, mini flower shows, plant sales and exhibits, fascinating guest speakers, and informative presentations—all enjoyed with light refreshments. Meetings are held in Multipurpose Room #3 at the Scarborough Village Recreation Centre. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., with the meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m.
SGHS hosts monthly General Meetings—typically on the second Wednesday of each month—excluding August and December. Members stay informed through our monthly Garden Cuttings newsletter, where any updates or changes are shared.
We welcome all who share a passion for gardening, learning, and community connection.
