Ācimowin Film Festival
Our festival is a platform dedicated to Indigenous visual storytelling, Ācimowin Film Festival seeks to empower Indigenous culture, traditions, and languages through the art of Cinema. Indigenous filmmakers not only share their truth, but they provide meaningful learning opportunities and conversations for allies, and offer Indigenous youth the opportunity to see themselves reflected in positive, authentic representation.
Our ancestors passed down knowledge and records of historical events through oral storytelling. Today, the heart of the festival’s mission is to honour Indigenous narratives through the art of film and media. Ācimowin Film Festival is committed to becoming an ever evolving annual cultural cornerstone in Saskatchewan and a catalyst for long-term growth within the Indigenous film industry on the prairies.
