Choeur philharmonique du Nouveau Monde - Ottawa / Ottawa Classical Choir was established in 2006 by conductor Michel Brousseau and soprano Maria Knapik with a mission to give amateur singers an opportunity to perform classical repertoire at a professional level.

Part of the Sociéte philharmonique du Nouveau Monde (SPNM) a dynamic musical organization comprising choirs from Ottawa, Montréal, and the Lower Laurentians, along with the Orchestre philharmonique du Nouveau Monde, led by Artistic Director and Conductor Michel Brousseau. The SPNM brings exceptional musical experiences to its three home cities: Ottawa, Montreal, and Sainte-Thérèse with six to eight concerts a year, pursuing a shared vision “to showcase great classical works for choir and orchestra”.
