Borderland State Park, Mass DCR
Borderland State Park is located in North Easton, MA and is managed by DCR. Once owned by Oakes Ames, a Harvard Botanist, and his wife Blanche, artist and suffragist, purchased the land on the border of Easton and Sharon and they named their estate "Borderland". In 1971, two years after the death of Blanche Ames, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts acquired the estate and opened it as a state park, for all to enjoy! Today, the park protects over 1,800 acres of land and continues to offer visitors many of the same pleasures the Ames family once enjoyed.
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) manages state parks and oversees more than 450,000 acres throughout Massachusetts. It protects, promotes, and enhances the state’s natural, cultural, and recreational resources.
