Dawn Sev
Rebellion never gets old.
Mix Joan Jett-style rock with the sassy savoir-faire of Liz Phair and Motown girl groups, with a touch of Phyllis Diller, and you’ve got the mix that makes Dawn Sev so special: loud rock with sly wordplay and whip-smart lyrics, a confident attitude, and the slick sounds of late 70s/early 80s alternative rock. That’s Dawn Sev’s trademark sound.
Dawn released her début EP, TART, a loud, literate, feminist rock romp, this past February 24th. TART spent six weeks on the college and community radio charts, reaching #13 at CFBX in Kamloops, BC. SPILL Magazine called it “a solid EP from a new artist, who makes relevant and important music”, and proclaimed the songs as “well-crafted and relatable”.
At present, Dawn is putting the finishing touches on her second EP, 55!, and performs regularly in and around the Ottawa area.
