Feral/Pen is a Dublin-based multidisciplinary arts practice and creative production outfit run by me, Kat (aka Feral/Pen).I started Feral/Pen because I can’t sit still - no matter the medium or the kind of event I’m working on.

I’ve been painting since before I could walk, and the only thing I love nearly as much as making something on canvas is a formula-driven excel and a tight production call sheet. Feral/Pen sits somewhere in that overlap - instinct and structure, mess and systems, dreaming ideas up and getting them actually made. And made WELL.

My work spans visual art, theatre production, arts administration, and event production. On the visual side, I work primarily with acrylic paint and canvas, often pulling from pop culture themes that make me giggle. My art practice is for me mainly, and I weave between the formal gallery setting and more off the beaten track methods of getting my work out there. Alongside that, I produce theatre, music events, DJ nights, exhibitions, and other slightly hard-to-define happenings - sometimes independently, sometimes in collaboration with other artists and organisations.

After more than a decade of doing this, the approach is fairly simple: make a lot of work, make it well, and build the structure needed to support it. I like working across disciplines, across scales, and, if I’m honest, I’m a bit greedy about it.
