Fort Calgary
When you come to Fort Calgary, you stand on the traditional territory of the peoples of Treaty 7, including Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy; the Tsuut'ina; and the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley Nations of the Stoney-Nakoda.
This is also where the North West Mounted Police arrived in 1875 and built Fort Calgary, which became the foundation for the city of Calgary. In just under 150 years, Calgary grew from a tiny outpost to a city where 1.25 million people now live.
We offer a museum, public education, school programs and special events. We also offer an outstanding dining, catering and event venue.
