Hawkers is an experiential annual food & music festival blending together the worlds of indie food, breweries, distilleries & indie music. In multi cities, representing the local and regional food terroir of our festival, Founded in Vancouver 2013.

Hawkers are independent chefs, breweries, distilleries, side hustles, pop ups & indie food producers in a format centred around a Hawker style eating and drinking experience where guests are able to choose from multiple tastings included in their wristband ticket.

 

Our manifesto begins with accepting the vicissitudes of the natural world: both its limits and its generosities. The two main hindrances to modern food culture have been expectations and appropriations: the notion that a plate should have x and y components to constitute a proper meal. These routines have exhausted the supply chain in most food organizations, as certain ingredients are celebrated, while others are relegated. Hawkers wants to soften the mold that has become a stiffened acceptance of edible convention. We pledge to break down the barriers that comfort zones and habit have re- stricted us to. We should always be on the quest for food that makes best use of the fragile environment: making more of a mark on our palate, and less of one on the natural world. -Hawkers
