About Kujenga Family Wellness Project

The Kujenga Family Wellness Project is a community-based initiative dedicated to strengthening families, empowering parents and caregivers, supporting children and youth, and promoting collective wellness within Black and racialized communities. Rooted in the principles of **Ubuntu, cultural identity, community care, and collective empowerment**, Kujenga creates welcoming and inclusive spaces where individuals and families can connect, learn, share experiences, and access valuable resources.

Through our educational webinars, parenting workshops, community gatherings, and wellness initiatives, we address important topics such as mental health, parenting and family relationships, financial wellness, cultural identity, child and youth development, and community resilience. Our events bring together professionals, community leaders, elders, parents, and individuals with lived experiences to encourage meaningful conversations and practical learning.

One of our signature initiatives is the **Kujenga Wellness Fair**, a vibrant gathering that celebrates community strengths, promotes access to health and wellness resources, and fosters connections among families, service providers, local entrepreneurs, and community organizations. Our fairs feature educational workshops, interactive activities, cultural experiences, wellness practitioners, and opportunities for intergenerational learning.

Kujenga works collaboratively with **Ifarada: Centre for Excellence** and **Kujipenda Cultural Centre** to advance culturally responsive programming, community education, family support, and holistic wellness. We believe that strengthening families requires more than individual support. It requires strong relationships, accessible resources, culturally grounded knowledge, and communities working together to create opportunities for healing, growth, and belonging.

Join us as we continue building spaces for learning, connection, empowerment, and community transformation.
