Maya Charbin

Maya Charbin, first established in 2014, is a label that focuses on bridging the gap between luxury clothing and contemporary fashion.

The timeless yet innovative designs convey the designer’s aesthetic of consistency in contrast, leading the collections to definitive silhouettes that evolve within opposites that attract. Maya’s creations are unique, in that there is structure in the fluidity, textures in transparencies and details that never seize to surprise. They are designed with a great eye for detail and constructed with fine craftsmanship using different shapes of squares and rectangles draped around the body in myriad of ways, so the contrasts square/strict and organic/fluid become a team creating several garments with the same pieces.

Maya the 2018 Marty’s award winner made her Toronto debut during Fashion Art Toronto in April 2015 as well as participated in Torino Fashion week in Italy in 2016 and 2017.

She has also dressed celebrities during TIFF 2017 and 2018 including ET Canada TV hosts like Sangita Patel & Cheryl Hickey, and celebrities like Cristina Rosato, and Shalivina Dhera. And for the last year she has been dressing her city’s Mayor Bonnie Crombie and Miss Universe Canada 2018, Marta Stepien Magdalena.
