Roots Community Services Inc

RootsCS is a Black-led, Black-focused, multi-service charitable organization that provides culturally-relevant programs and services to inspire residents in the Region of Peel, primarily from the Black and Caribbean communities, to make positive changes in their lives and within their communities.

At the heart of our programs is the desire to reduce poverty and help individuals and families lead healthy and productive lives. Activities, developed from a culturally-sensitive perspective, are geared toward empowering our clients and helping them find their inner strength and abilities to create solutions to the challenges they face.

We serve children from age six to seniors well into their 90s. We provide counselling services for families with children involved with the Peel and Halton Children's Aid Societies, and for women and their dependants in abusive situations; an outreach program for at-risk youth 12 to 21 years; a youth entrepreneurship mentoring program for ages 16 to 24, and an after-school program for ages 6 to 14. We also run a summer day camp and a free tax clinic.

Our vision is to be a leader in the transformation that would ensure equity and equality for Black and Caribbean communities within the Region of Peel and beyond.
