SHIBARI STUDIO BERLIN
A dedicated space for private Shibari sessions, tuition, workshops and artistic projects in Berlin-Mitte.
Shibari Studio Berlin is an artist-led studio founded in 2024 by multidisciplinary artist Dan Carabas. The work is rooted in Aibunawa (愛撫縄) — the tender, caressing rope. Here, feeling comes before form, and rope becomes a practice of presence, trust, and connection.
At the heart of the studio are Private Sessions & Tuition — one-to-one experiences by appointment for individuals and couples. Come alone to be tied in the meditative, deeply relaxing state of Slow Shibari: being held in ropes as a deep reset. Or come as a couple to learn rope together — how to tie, how to be tied, building trust, polarity, and connection.
Alongside the sessions, the studio offers Tantric-Shibari Workshops for couples and friends (small groups, max. 4 couples), Shibari Life Drawing evenings, and artistic photo and film productions.
All experiences take place in a quiet, Japanese-inspired studio in Berlin-Mitte — original tatami mats, candlelight, and a carefully composed soundscape. No previous experience is required.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Dan Carabas, known for his multidisciplinary art project METAMORPHIC SCULPTURES, has been working with rope in an aesthetic and expressive manner for over a decade. In Berlin he developed what he calls "the art of Shibari with intention" — a minimalistic, floor-based practice guided by breath and presence. He does not believe the essence of Shibari lies in knots: knots are vocabulary, connection is the technique.
