Tal Naccarato

Tal Naccarato

Italo ‘Tal’ Naccarato, the composer, songwriter, teaching artist

and instrumentalist (guitar, banjo, keyboards, harmonica) was

born in the medieval mountain village of Fiumefreddo Bruzio in

Calabria, Italy and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. His stylized

original work, highlighting a deep appreciation for traditional Folk

and Americana Roots music, is steeped heavily in Rock and

Blues and includes his original classical guitar inspired

compositions, performed with a 'bluesy swing’.

When not playing a festival, club or recording date, Tal can

sometimes be found performing on the streets of New York City,

Nashville or New Orleans in the time-honored Folk / Americana /

Roots & Country Blues street singer tradition.

His last Album ’Ten and Two Blues’, was released April 27th,

2022. His next collection of works, ‘The Theory of Hurricanes’, will

be released in Fall,’24.

Tal most recently won the 'Long Island Blues Society's' 2023

Solo/Duo Competition to compete in 'The Blues Foundation

International Worldwide Blues Challenge’ on Beale Street in

Memphis, Tennessee, 2023

Tal was also recently featured as a solo acoustic performer at

the famed 'MerleFest' Festival in North Carolina; he has taken his

place amongst the very best players worldwide.

Tal’s solid songwriting skills, and fresh and authentic approach to

the genre has cemented his slot in the folk and blues world as a

highly stylized original traditional player and composer, with a

deep appreciation for both Folk, Americana ,Roots, Country Blues

and traditional classical guitar music.

".....Tal is a one-man revue of a dozen of the great blues

guitar masters,.....", (Mike Livingston, Program Chair, 'Folk

Society of Greater Washington' (FSGW)

"...Tal Naccarato plays old style ragtime and blues guitar

after the fashion of such greats as Happy Traum and Dave

Van Ronk. He delivers the classics of the folks like Reverend

Gary Davis ...and his own compositions in the same

genre." ‘The Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series’ (The Folk

Project)

"...Tal, Well,I certainly enjoyed having you on the show. I like

what you do and how you do it... and you're not exactly what

I expected, and that's fun.", Phil Shapiro, Producer & Host,

WVBR's 'Bound For Glory' Radio Show, Cornell University

“...Tal Naccarato is the 'real deal'...", Rick Landers- Publisher/
