Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Club
TROYANDA UKRAINIAN DANCE CLUB - Is a not-for-profit organization with members that volunteer their time preserving and promoting the artful heritage of Ukrainian dance in Southern Alberta. Established in 1994, the Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Club have over 50 members ranging in age 3 to timeless with a shared passion for Ukrainian dance and culture.
Each year Troyanda dancers and present their dances with colourful authentic Ukrainian costumes at three major performances:
Malanka- A Ukrainian New Year’s Celebration, Vesna- A Celebration of Spring (Troyanda’s year-end concert), and Grade Three Curriculum Shows. The Grade Three Curriculum Shows allow Troyanda to share their love of Ukrainian culture with numerous Grade Three classes across Southern Alberta. In 2019 these sold-out shows, which include educational and interactive components, had over 1400 students attending from over 24 schools around southern Alberta!
In addition to putting on these major shows, Troyanda also visits and performs at many Continuing Care homes around Southern Alberta. They can often be seen sharing their love of dance in numerous community events, parades and festivals. Troyanda dancers and instructors have also earned many medals and special recognition over the years at dance competitions and festivals.
