Alfredo Herrera, PEng, MSc, IEEE-SM

Alfredo has over 19 years of experience in digital design and verification (ASIC/FPGA), radio system performance verification, technical project management and manufacturing test engineering. He enjoys volunteering to broaden his knowledge in engineering, project management and community development; most recently volunteering with the IEEE and l'Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec. Alfredo completed a Master at the University of Ottawa on Open Source Hardware for Human Development, and is currently a PhD student at teh university of Ottawa researching collaborative development and commons-based peer-production. He is a member of IEEE’s Humanitarian Activities Committee, chair and founder of the IEEE-Canada Humanitarian Initiatives Committee and chair of the IEEE-Ottawa Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology.
