The Early Literacy Specialist’s role is to support, strengthen, monitor and promote early literacy and language development in the community.

Early language and literacy development begins at birth, and is directly linked to early experiences with books and stories.  Caring, responsive adults can build important literacy skills by talking, reading, singing and playing with young children.
