2024년 4월이면 4.16세월호참사가 발생한 지 10년이 됩니다. 세월호참사 이후 우리는 ‘절대로 잊지 않겠습니다’, ‘가만히 있지 않겠습니다’, ‘끝까지 함께 하겠습니다’ 함께 다짐했습니다. 우리는 그 후 한순간도 ‘완전한 진실과 책임’, ‘안전한 사회’를 향한 우리의 약속과 다짐을 포기한 적이 없습니다. 아직 규명되지 않은 진실을 찾아나가는 일도, 희생자를 온전히 애도하고 피해를 치유하는 일도, 보다 안전한 사회를 만드는 일도 여기서 멈출 수 없습니다. 다가오는 세월호참사 10주기를 앞두고, 그날의 기억, 그날의 다짐, 그날의 약속을 다시 되새기고 진실과 정의, 안전한 사회를 향한 우리의 연대와 실천을 더욱 굳건히 하기 위해 잊지 않고 함께 행동하기로 했던 모두의 마음을 다시 모아주실 것을 호소합니다.Reset 영화 상영회와 배민 감독과의 대화의 시간을 마련했습니다2024.4.6 7 PM Innis Town Hall, U of T 2 Sussex Ave, Toronto, ON M5S 1J5 문의 및 후원: sewoltoronto@gmail.com 주최: 세월호를 기억하는 토론토 사람들 About movie Resethttps://resetmovie.com/about-filmOn April 16th, 2014, the Sewol Ferry sank in South Korea, taking with it the lives of 304 of its 476 passengers. The victims, primarily high school students, perished following instructions to remain in the cabins rather than abandon ship. South Korea’s worst maritime disaster traumatized a nation while simultaneously sinking the country’s emotional spirit.Three years later, the effects of impassioned protest and shifting political power resulted in the raising of the Sewol from the West Sea.The film “Reset” asks why the rescue of our children and people was neglected on the fateful day the Sewol sank.
