VoiceStory is hosting their popular “Conversations and Connection” sessions at the Coquitlam Public Library! What is Conversation &amp; Connection?Conversation &amp; Connection sessions are designed to teach some fundamental skills of effective communication and also provide a safe, friendly space to practice these skills, so you can have more meaningful conversations and create deeper connection with others. There are six fundamental topics covered in this advanced communication workshop to help you become a more effective communicator: Listening, Authenticity, Empathy, Conversation, Language and Reciprocity. Each session focuses on only one of the six topics, so you will experience something new every time you attend! If you have thoughts and feelings of being disconnected, uncertain of what to say, what to talk about, not wanting to go alone, “this is just another networking event…” or a multitude of other reasons… please understand that we have kept all of this in mind in the creation of these events for you. What happens during the event?We start each event by introducing a few key concepts on how to become a more effective communicator.Next we invite you to participate in our safe, friendly, empowered space, where we will facilitate rounds of 1-on-1 conversation with like minded people, by providing a topic/question for each round of conversation. Will I get to meet new people?We take care of pairing everyone up with someone new every round, so you have ample opportunity to meet new people from your community and connect with them by practicing your communication skills. When and where is this event held?These social events happen twice a month at the Coquitlam Library City Center Branch from 630pm- 800pmThere are only 24 spots available at each social event, so do not wait and register your spot now! How to attend these events?These social events are for people aged 16 and up.We ask that you please register ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
