This online course is designed to increase your knowledge of the Catholic Church's teaching on marriage and family, and to deepen your awareness of what a Catholic marriage entails, that is, the free and able consent of both parties to a lifelong, faithful and fruitful union before God. The course content and expectations are comprehensive and also respectful of the engaged couple's privacy. Non-Catholics are welcome to take the course, as are couples who are not yet engaged but considering marriage.The course consists of several modules on relevant subjects, individual and couple activities and assessments, and features video presentations, including couples relating their experiences of the joys and challenges of married life.It is fully asynchronous. which means you can start and complete at your own pace.The cost is $80 per couple (non-refundable).This fee includes access to the course, which is hosted on Canvas, as well as one copy per couple of the booklet The Order of Celebrating Matrimony: Liturgy Planning Guide.When you and your fiancé(e) have both completed the course, you then can contact the diocese marriage office (marriageprep@rcdvictoria.org) to receive yourjoint Certificate of Completeion, which is recognized by any parish within the Diocese of Victoria.NOTE: If you belong to another (arch)diocese, please ask your parish priest whether this course will be accepted in your jurisdiction.Topics include:<ul><li>What is Love</li><li>Personality Differences</li><li>Communications and Expectations</li><li>What is Marriage</li><li>What is Sacramental Marriage</li><li>Finances and Faith</li><li>Marital Sexuality and Family</li><li>Natural Family Planning</li><li>The Mission of Family</li></ul>
