All are welcome to join the Dalhousie Human Rights and Equity Services for an engaging online workshop on Microaggressions facilitated by Dalhousie student Fatima Beydoun. Microaggressions are a prevalent form of systemic racism that needs to be dismantled despite being oftentimes overlooked. It’s in the questions we ask, the media we consume, the jokes we laugh at, and permeates many of our interactions. As part of the unlearning and relearning that needs to take place, we will be discussing the various forms of microaggressions, the individual and societal impacts, as well as tips and pointers to address and prevent microaggressions from taking place. Whether you’ve never heard the word microaggressions or if you’ve experienced it many times, this is a workshop for you.This event is extended to the wider community to learn from and participate in.
