The Sense GOT Group Virtual Activities Programme

GOT is an acronym for ‘Get Out There’ and is a local government funded project for young people with sensory impairments. Our aim was to enable the young people in the Sense GOT group to remain connected with their peer group friends. The young people in GOT are also members of the Deafblind International Youth Network and were involved in previous exchange visits with deafblind youth groups.
The Sense GOT Group virtual activities programme commenced its planning stage during early March 2020. The date coincided with the postponement of GOT face to face activities due to Covid-19. The first part of project delivery involved working with families to set up the conferencing app technology (zoom). Test sessions prepared families for the first on line activities with the app accessed through laptops, phones and iPad&#x27;s. Examples of Activities delivered through the programme are: drum and percussion, sign language lessons, arts and crafts, cookery, Yoga and 
circus skills.

The webinar will give precise details about accessibility to ensure an inclusive programme and will address the following topics: 
-Safety and Security
-Initial Activities
-Volunteers
-Activities Programme
