Join the A/C Study World Café  to learn about major findings from the survey and share your  thoughts and experiences in  focus groups.

Knowledge Translation and Exchange is an important component of Community Based-Research (CBR). The A/C Study, a community- based research study led by African Canadian researchers, invites you to participate in a two-day online event to learn more about the study's outcomes and to discuss how African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) communities are affected by HIV and what needs to be done to prevent the transmission of HIV at the individual, community and structural levels.This exciting online gathering is called a World Café, which is a large group dialogue where qualitative data (information you share, your thoughts, ideas, feedback) will be collected. The purpose of this qualitative data collection is to elaborate on some of the issues that were included in the survey during the first phase of data collection. After the event, the collected data will be transcribed and included in the A/C Study Community Report.If you consent to participate, you will join a focus group discussion (on Zoom) with community members and stakeholders, where the research team will share findings about the prevalence of HIV among ACB people living in Toronto and Ottawa, including individual and structural factors that may have an impact on HIV transmission. The focus groups will be audio-recorded. In order to participate you will need to consent to audio-recording. The consent form and Zoom details will be sent to you using the email address you provide during registration. An honorarium of $30 per day will be provided to participants as a token of appreciation for taking the time to join this event.Participation in the focus group sessions on each day is voluntary and confidential. Any information you provide will be kept private. Please register to participate. Only registered participants will have access to the event.
