Employer Awareness: AODA Compliance

We are pleased to offer these workshops to Employers within Kawartha Lakes and surrounding areas to increase equitable employment opportunities for persons living with disabilities (PLWD) and support AODA compliance within your workplace.

Join us virtually for Ampere's no-cost AODA compliance training for employers in the food service, restaurant, retail, and agriculture sectors in the Kawartha Lakes and surrounding areas. AODA compliance is not only mandatory, it helps ensure your business can maximize its reach and impact! This program raises awareness of employment standards, improves access to untapped talent and removes accessibility barriers across stages of employment for people living with disabilities. This is a three and a half-hour virtual workshop that will cover:<ol><li>An introduction to AODA compliance</li><li>How to adhere to web content accessibility guidelines</li><li>Inclusive recruitment, retention, and accommodations practices of People Living with Disabilities (PLWD)</li></ol>Please contact ckldelivery@amp.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

Agenda

 This course aims to equip participants with an understanding of the purpose and principles of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).  This course will also include communication, information, and accessibility standards, employer compliance standards, and accessible customer service practices in the workplace.  


Course 1: Introduction  to AODA compliance

This course will equip participants with the right tools to design and develop digital content that adheres to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Learn how to build inclusive and accessible websites!

Course 2:  Adhering to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 

This course will equip you with knowledge and strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain employees living with disabilities (PLWD).
