Join this introductory workshop of the traditional practice of the Māori Martial Art, Mau Rākau.

The Dance Centre

Led by performers of TOA III, Bella Waru, Fallon Te Paa &amp; Kaycee Merito, this workshop gives participants an introduction to the traditional practice of Mau Rākau. Anchored in the unique philosophy and values of Te Ao Māori &amp; the teachings of Te Whare Tū Taua o Aotearoa, participants will learn footwork, stances, language and weaponry basics. Rākau will be provided. We suggest wearing comfortable clothing and bringing water. Everyone is welcome!
