Digital Public Consultation &amp; Resident Engagement training series (Part 3/3)Genuine resident and community engagement remains vital to the public service, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19. While we were able to do digital consultation before, overnight, this became our new normal. The COVID-19 crisis has presented organizations with an opportunity to reinvent their community engagement and consultation toolkit for years to come.This 3-part 75-minute workshop will help civil servants adapt to facilitating public consultations and meetings online and begin to address issues of access, equity and accessibility of digital public engagement practices. <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/hoffmanl/?originalSubdomain=ca" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lisa Brody Hoffman</a> is the former Chief of Staff and Director of Community Engagement for Toronto City Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam. She has led over 15 public consultations with hundreds of residents across the City of Toronto, and managed digital-first advocacy campaigns for a diversity of non-profit clients. She bridges the world of design thinking, digital engagement, and public consultation, while always placing access, equity and accessibility as a guiding star. She believes that public consultations should be fun, engaging and beautifully designed from start to finish, with care and compassion for the participants and end users of any given policy initiative.
