How to Prioritize Sexual Health in Times of Stress and Change

Join us this February for FREE online talks by psychologists, exploring how to build stronger relationships and resilience in times of change. In times of stress, our sexual health can often fall to the bottom of the priority list. However, sexual health is an important aspect of our overall mental health and well-being. This presentation will explore the importance of pleasure and communication in restoring intimacy and fostering stronger, healthier relationships. Dr. Li will cover key topics such as desire discrepancy, sexual communication, and overcoming sexual shame and anxiety. Dr. Veronica LiDr. Veronica Li (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist and co-founder of CAYA Health Centre. CAYA Health Centre is a multidisciplinary medical and allied health clinic focused on supporting all women, trans, and non-binary individuals. Dr. Li is committed to addressing the gaps in healthcare, specifically the inequities in healthcare access for women and those marginalized based on gender. At CAYA Health Centre, the goal is to provide gender-affirming, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and weight-neutral care.In Dr. Li's clinical work, she supports individuals, couples, and groups with topics like anxiety, relationships, and sexuality. She works with concerns like shame and guilt, trauma, sexual and pelvic pain, body image, compulsive behaviours, sexual and gender identity, and self-esteem. In addition to her practice at CAYA, Dr. Li supports patients at the BC Centre for Vulvar Health and supervises practicum students from Adler University and the University of British Columbia.
