The Senate of the United States takes centre stage during impeachment trials, but what occurs behind the scenes? To explore the procedures, precedents, and practical realities of impeachment trials, the Canadian Study of Parliament Group will be joined by very special guest and expert: Former US Senate Parliamentarian Alan Frumin.The Parliamentarian is the Senate’s principal advisor on rules and procedures. Alan Frumin, served in the Office of the Parliamentarian of the United States Senate for 35 years, 18 of those as Chief Parliamentarian.In English with simultaneous interpretation*.Cost: $10*Please note that we have made all necessary arrangements to provide simultaneous interpretation of our events. At this unusual time, however, parliamentary business takes precedence over the limited facilities available to interpreters so that they can do their work safely.
