The Devised Theatre Showcase is the final project presented by UFV Theatre’s fourth-year Devised Theatre class (THEA 452). Led by instructor, Parjad Sharifi, it is a chance for students to apply everything they have learned during their time at UFV and create a production together from scratch. We invite you to come and see what our students have worked so hard on. This year the Devised Theatre Class has created a theatre piece called Pages of Time. We grow up surrounded by books, but which chapters create the library of our mind? Pages of Time is a performance that engages with the power and nature of books. Follow the Reader as they are whisked from cover to cover of the favourites from childhood to adulthood. Delight in the power of books and the joy of escapism; but do tread lightly, for we do not know where fiction ends and reality begins. The student collaborators this year are Racheal Arnold, Ashy Crowston, Lydia Gunnink, Aimee Payeur, Alex Simpson, and Mark Urano. The production is supported by a student production and design team that includes Arty Urdabayev (projection and sound designer), Sterling Kai Pollock (lighting designer) and Marie Brideau (stage manager). Performances will be held in the Performance Studio, Building D, 105, Abbotsford Campus, University of the Fraser Valley, 33844 King Road.
