This session provides insights to principles of Africentric social work practice from three African Nova Scotian members of NSCSW.

Anti-racist & anti-discriminatory practice

<p><br></p><p>This panel discussion celebrates this year’s theme for African Heritage Month in Nova Scotia, <strong><strong>Legacy in Action: Celebrating Black Brilliance</strong></strong>. The webinar will be joined by three prominent African Nova Scotian social workers who will speak from their experience on what are the principles Africentric Social Work, how others can apply these lessons and how allies can support advocacy for the integration of the principles and practices.</p><p>The panel discussion will be moderated by Tyler Colbourne, Professional Development Consultant with the NSCSW. This session is aligned with the NSCSW’s commitment to reparations and translating commitment into action. We are proud to be joined by the panelists <strong><strong>Juanita Paris, Jasmine Hochman, and Kyiaisha Benton</strong></strong>.</p><p><br></p><h3>Eligibility</h3><p>There are no prerequisites for this session. You'll need a device that can use <a href="https://zoom.us/test" title="https://zoom.us/test" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Zoom</a>, and a reasonably reliable internet connection.
