<h3>Does any of this sound like you?</h3> As men, many of us struggle in our relationships with women.We may find we're emotionally reactive.Perhaps we're uncomfortable with our own emotions or afraid of being vulnerable.We might be mean or dismissive of our partner.Many of us also give our power away to her or seek her approval.Many of us feel fear of being abandoned by her.Some of us are even afraid of women and how beautiful or powerful they are.Or perhaps we treat our partner like she's our mother - expecting her to take care of us, making our emotions her problem, or craving her soothing energy (often through sex).If you struggle with porn or sex addiction, this includes you as well.When our father was not supportive or present enough, whether physically or emotionally, we may have learned that we could find safety only in the feminine, and not within ourselves.All of this is related to the mother wound. A major struggle for men in today's world is overcoming their dependency on the feminine - we may self-soothe in toxic ways such as porn or substance addictions.Perhaps we are needy or crave our partner's body.You might identify as anxiously attached, or avoidant towards your partner.Maybe we don't feel safe within ourselves, or struggle to feel like enough of a man.When we experience some or all of these issues, we are still operating from boy psychology - we have not grown out of or dependency on the feminine, and we end up making our partner our "surrogate mother". “When men feel the wound that cannot heal, they either bury themselves in woman's arms and ask her for healing, which she cannot provide, or they hide themselves in macho pride and enforced loneliness.” ― James Hollis, Under Saturn's Shadow This online retreat is a one-day deep dive into the archetypes of the masculine and feminine, and how you can step into your healthy masculine energy.Through the power of men's council, inner child work, somatic healing, and breathwork, we will come together to learn, grow, and heal. Many of us have never been given an opportunity to truly slow down and safely connect with the parts of us from our past and feelings in our body that keep us trapped in our patterns.This is a space to do just that. During this one-day event, we'll come together to heal.Here is what you'll experience: <h4>SCHEDULE</h4> Part 1: The wounding of men - How the "mother wound" formsUnderstand the patterns many of us fall into of emotional wounding and dependency on our mothers, and the relationship struggles that often follow as a result. This will include opportunities to share your personal experiences in a safe and non-judgemental space and feel supported by the other men.This practice of vulnerability is an important part of building safety and preparing for the rest of the day's work. Part 2: Making the unconscious consciousGet to know the roots of your own mother wound, not just conceptually, but in an embodied way. We'll be exploring the sensations, tensions, and unconscious patterns that make up our wounding, and why we keep showing up certain ways in our life and relationships. This will help you understand yourself better, including why you have certain emotional patterns and how they manifest in your body. Part 3: Deep healing with breathwork and meeting your inner childOur final session will combine two powerful techniques that help you to work directly with your unconscious, which is where your pain is held. Bringing special attention to the mother wound and the discussions had earlier in the day will shape what comes up for you to process in the breathwork session.Many men experience deep emotional release, healing, and a sense of profound peace with these practices. We will close the day with reflections on what came up throughout the day and tools you can use to integrate it more deeply moving forward. <h4>Your Guide: Jack Bunce</h4>If you don't already know me (or want a refresher), I'm a somatic healing coach. My mission is rooted in healing and personal growth, drawing from personal experiences with overcoming anxiety, PTSD, and panic attacks, as well as major relationship struggles that caused me a deep sense of shame and to be emotionally reactive. My toolkit spans many modalities and includes shadow work, breathwork, meditation, somatic healing, men's work, and psychedelic integration. It is erased – I am free now." – John Hanning, New York City To Prepare For The Healing Practices: For the final part of the day, you will need a comfortable place to lie down, such as a yoga mat, couch, or bed. I recommend having two pillows (one to optionally hug or squeeze) and a blanket. We will spend the first 2/3 of the day seated, but once we shift to the guided breathwork journey, I'll have you lie down and place your computer beside you so that I can see your breathing pattern and provide guidance. Note on Participation: Your engagement in this event means you are committed to showing up and actively participating. You will need to have your camera turned on so that I can see you during the introduction and during the journey. I seek to foster a trauma-informed space, and invite you to show up in the way that feels safest and most supportive for you, while upholding my request to see you throughout the call.
