<h3>About Hour++ of Code</h3><p>The Hour Plus Plus of Code event features various one-off workshops for school-age students to learn how to code. The grade range for these workshops will vary based on the content presented. Not sure if coding is for you? Join us for these workshops and let us change your mind!</p><p><br></p><h3>International Women’s Day</h3><p>In celebration of International Women's Day, Science Al!ve is offering an All Girls Hour++ of Code Day. This workshop is beginner-friendly and will use <a href="https://codepen.io/" title="https://codepen.io/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CodePen</a>. Don’t forget to review the<a href="https://sciencealive.ca/all-girls-hour-plus-plus" title="https://sciencealive.ca/all-girls-hour-plus-plus" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> workshop overview and requirements</a> before registering!</p><p><br></p><h4>Summary of Workshop Details</h4><p>Date: Mar 8, 2025 (Sat)</p><p>Time: 10 am-12 pm</p><p>Grade: 8-12</p><p>Cost: Free</p><p>Location: Virtual via Zoom. The meeting link will be opened 30 minutes before the workshop starts for students to test their setup (e.g. is your audio working?).</p><p><br></p><h4>Workshop Requirements</h4><ul><li>Internet access</li><li>Laptop/desktop computer</li><li>CodePen account: <a href="https://codepen.io/pen" title="https://codepen.io/pen" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://codepen.io/pen</a></li></ul><p><br></p><h4>Additional Notes</h4><ul><li>A confirmation email with the Zoom link will be sent to students by Mar 4, 2024 (Tuesday) at 5:00 pm and a reminder will be sent by Mar 7, 2025 (Friday) at 5:00 pm.</li><li>We use the same learning materials in past workshops. If you attended a workshop with the same description, the materials presented will be the same. However, if you need a refresher on that specific topic, please feel free to join the workshop again!</li><li>Please only sign up if you can attend the workshop and please cancel your Eventbrite ticket if you can no longer attend the workshop.
