Discover the wonders of winter wildlife!Bring your family and join us this Family Day to explore the diversity of bird species that live on Toronto Island Park during the winter months and how to identify them. We’ll learn how to use binoculars and wear them on our birding adventure along Toronto's waterfront!This event is intended for Ages 6+:<ul><li>Beginner level information</li><li>Activities and concepts that are friendly for all ages</li><li>Intended audience includes children, youth, and adults</li></ul> TRCA is committed to creating an accessible experience for all participants. Timing may vary slightly as the tour will commence upon the arrival of the 12:30pm Ward's Island ferry boat to the Ward's Island Ferry Dock.Location: Ward's Island, Toronto Island Park. Hike leaders will meet participants at the <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/2Xee7mnfSJrcAqBk6" title="https://maps.app.goo.gl/2Xee7mnfSJrcAqBk6" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ward's Island Ferry Dock</a> upon the arrival of the ferry boat around 12:45pm. The hike will end upon return to the Ward's Island Ferry Dock in time for participants to take the 2:15pm ferry back to the mainland.Cancellation Policy: The event will run rain or shine but will be cancelled if there is a chance of thunderstorms, hazardous weather, or ferry service disruption. Registrants will be emailed by 7:00am on the day of the event if there is a cancellation. Please direct any questions regarding the cancellation policy for this event to jasmine.thompson@trca.ca. <h3>Be Prepared</h3><ul><li>Please dress appropriately for a cold, winter day. This program will take place completely outdoors. Don't forget to wear warm layers, a toque, scarf, and gloves!</li><li>Ensure you wear comfortable and sturdy footwear with good traction.</li><li>Bring a personal water bottle and snacks, if needed.</li><li>If you have your own binoculars, please bring them! Extra pairs will also be available.</li></ul>
