We are a dedicated group interested in preserving Darts Hill Garden Park as a plantsman’s garden. Inspired by the spirit and vision of Francisca Darts who— with her husband Edwin—so graciously donated the property to the City of Surrey, the Society seeks to continue the development of the garden and to extend opportunities to the public to enjoy the garden as well as to make their own special contributions.The City of Surrey worked directly with Francisca Darts in the development of a purpose, vision and overall guiding principles for the garden. This ensures that in the future the garden will continue to be managed in accordance with her wishes.The City and the Society are excited about the future of Darts Hill Garden Park. The garden is a place of horticultural learning, where enthusiastic amateur gardeners rub shoulders with professional horticulturists to view some of the finest and most mature horticultural specimens in the Pacific Northwest.

Darts Hill Garden Conservancy Trust Society's mandate is  to advance horticultural education by providing  classes, events, workshops, and lectures to the public on a variety of topics.

Want to enjoy a garden that keeps coming back year after year, even in a small space? This hands-on workshop focuses on creating a beautiful and sustainable perennial container garden, perfect for those with limited outdoor areas, like balconies, patios, or small yards. Perennials are plants that grow year after year, giving you the joy of watching them thrive without the need to replant season after season.In this workshop, you'll learn:<ul><li>How to choose the best perennial plants for containers, including flowers, herbs, and foliage</li><li>Tips for selecting the right-sized pots, ensuring proper drainage, and creating a soil mix that lasts</li><li>How to design a container garden that will bloom season after season</li><li>Essential care tips for perennials, including watering, fertilizing, and winterizing your container garden</li></ul>At the end of the session, you’ll have the skills to create your own perennial container garden, along with a beautiful perennial container to take home and start your own long-lasting green space.Who Should Attend: Urban gardeners, apartment dwellers, small space enthusiasts, and anyone who loves the idea of planting perennials in containers.Materials Provided: All materials for the perennial container garden, including pot, soil, and a selection of perennial plants, will be provided. If you have a favorite pot you’d like to use, feel free to bring it along!Registration is limited to 10.
