EDI Listening Session with Students, Staff and Faculty

How can we create a more inclusive university?

Students, staff and faculty are invited to join ECU President Gillian Siddall in a series of listening sessions on equity, diversity and inclusion.

These online meetings will provide opportunities to give feedback on the university’s EDI Action Plan, share your experiences with racism and discrimination, and talk about how we want to move forward as a community.

Everyone is encouraged to participate. Each listening session will include up to 10 participants who will be joined by President Siddall and one other member of our senior leadership team on Zoom.

Some sessions are open to anyone in our community, while others are for members of specific groups, including students, people with disabilities, and those who identify as LGBTQ2S+ or BIPOC.

The listening sessions will run through the middle of November. Additional session will be added if there is interest. The university will then hold a community-wide forum so that we can discuss what was learned during the listening sessions together.

These sessions are simply one of the many ways we’re engaging with EDI at Emily Carr, complementing the community-led conversations and initiatives that are taking place throughout the university.
