Sharpening is likely the most critical factor in non-surgical periodontal therapy. Proper sharpening skills have the potential to affect the success of manual hand instrumentation, treatment outcomes, operator injury and fatigue, as well as the time needed to complete treatment. Topics to be covered include:<ul><li>Instrument sharpening techniques for gracey currettes, universal scalers, sickle scalers and mini-bladed instruments (a variety of techniques will be discussed)</li><li>Determine your instrument sharpening flaws and how to address them</li><li>Determining the sharpness of an instrument​</li></ul> This hands-on course will not only improve your confidence and skills in sharpening but also your clinical outcomes with hand instrumentation.
