Their songs - from the power rock of "Hotel California" and "Heartache Tonight" to gentle ballads like "Desperado" - are undisputed classics. They are among the biggest selling musical acts of all time, and their concert tours are legendary.Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Eagles Story is a lecture-concert combining 'unplugged' renditions of the Eagles' classic hit songs with Dr. Mike's fascinating story of the band. Along with Mike's narration, guitar and vocals, Jill Daley contributes piano and violin, Greg Wyard sings and plays guitar, and Will Reid sings and plays bass.You'll learn about the Eagles' beginnings as Linda Ronstadt's backing band, their early years as a country-rock breakout act, and their stupendous breakthrough with the Hotel California album. Despite their million-selling success, the members of the band were often in conflict, making the Eagles a volatile entity by the late 70s. After an acrimonious breakup, they reunited to great acclaim, becoming a perennial concert juggernaut.The latest in a monthly series that has included sold-out lecture-concerts on Simon and Garfunkel, Carole King, the Beatles and Gordon Lightfoot, Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Eagles Story is a must-see for any music fan.Dr. Mike Daley is a musician and music historian known across the GTA for his highly entertaining and informative talks on popular music. Jill Daley is a full-time musician at Canada's National Ballet School and, like Mike, is part of the music staff at Redeemer. Greg Wyard is a respected Toronto bassist with several original albums to his credit and a strong following as the GTA's premier solo singer/guitarist. Will Reid is a respected singer and educator.This event takes place at the beautiful and historic Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church. There is ample free parking on site at this accessible venue.General admission tickets are $35.00 plus HST and fees. These events usually sell out, but if tickets are available at the door, they will be $50.00, cash only.
