<p>Join Pamela Shapka for a fun afternoon of Etching Pysanky! Using only natural colored eggs learn techniques to etch traditional Ukrainian designs at the Alberta Craft Council on April 5th, 2025, from 12 - 4pm. Just in time for Easter festivities!</p><p>Pamela Shapka, like many Ukrainians, was brought up writing pysanka from a young age. Using a wax resist method and either layering dyes from lighter to darker, or etching from dark or colored shells to white, traditional Ukrainian symbolism will be used to create your own pysanka to take home. Customs related to the craft of writing pysanka, varying methods and symbolism will be shared. Handouts and all supplies will be provided.</p>
