Pianist Emilio De Mercato performs at Ottawa Pianos, the exclusive dealer of Yamaha pianos for Ottawa.In honour of the "Supreme Poet" Dante Alighieri on the 760th anniversary of his birth, and as a tribute to Italy, Emilio De Mercato will be performing Franz Liszt’s “Après une lecture du Dante”, and “Sonetto del Petrarca No. 104.” This transcendent diptych, closely relating to De Mercato’s Italian origins, is preceded by the treasured Kinderszenen by Robert Schumann, and followed by Modest Mussorgsky’s monumental Pictures at an Exhibition.This concert is part of Emilio De Mercato's 2025 Piano Tour, with stops in different Canadian cities, leading up to his debut in New York at the <a href="https://www.carnegiehall.org/calendar/2025/05/09/emilio-de-mercato-piano-0800pm" title="https://www.carnegiehall.org/calendar/2025/05/09/emilio-de-mercato-piano-0800pm" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Carnegie Hall</a>, in May.This event is presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa. Note in regards to parking at Ottawa Pianos: you may park in the parking lot behind the store. You may also park in the parking lot of Joseph’s Tailoring. There is also street parking available on Rockingham Avenue and other residential streets in the neighbourhood. We advise to plan some time to find parking.
