Can I bring my partner, family member or friend?

You are invited to come alone, or to have someone join you at the event. Please let us know how many people will be coming with you.

Question 2

Do I need to be there for the whole event?

Accepted Answer

Each family is matched with the doulas that have availability for the date and services they are looking for. The time allows for you to meet with as many of your matches as possible; you may not require the entire time. Please choose tickets for a 1:45pm or 3:15pm start time.

Question 3

Is there free parking at the event?

Accepted Answer

There is free parking at the event. Please look for the signs that say 3 hour parking. Weekends are typically busy at the Plaza, please leave enough time to find a parking space.

Question 4

How many Doulas will I meet with and how long will I have with each one?

Accepted Answer

Typically there are 5-9 doulas at the event. Your due date and needs (birth or postpartum, or both) will be matched with the doulas attending and you'll have 5-10 minutes to meet with each one. The meeting time is quick, and is intended for you to get a feel for their personality and how they work.

Am I obligated to hire a Doula?

This is a free, no obligation event. It's a fun & comfortable opportunity to get your questions answered and meet with some  wonderful Calgary Doula Association Doulas! You will be provided with each doula's contact information & can follow up directly with them after the event for a consultation.
