Description: Join Vancouver Health for All Network to explore ways that health, education, and social service sectors can serve as anchor institutions within communities to address reconciliation and the social determinants of health through key community economic development strategies such as social procurement and community benefit agreements. Audience members will leave this panel discussion with resources to support them in adopting/implementing social procurement policies and practices within thier institution and opportunities for advocating for needed municipal, provincial and federal resources to advance social procurement and community benefit agreements. Speakers include: Scott Clark is of the S’klallam (Strong People) from the Chewhaytsum village along Vancouver Island’s west coast, Coast Salish territory. Scott is a long time urban Indigenous advocate and founding member and the Executive Director of Aboriginal Life in Vancouver Enhancement (ALIVE) society and North West Indigenous Council. He represents the North West Indigenous Council within the Congress of Indigenous Peoples and works/consults to foster Nation to Nation relations across diverse civil society groups and to close the gaps between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Peoples. See link to ALIVE&#x27;s recent work to engage Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth to guide application of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission across inter-sectoral contexts. David Le Page With a particular focus on the role of social enterprise, David has been fully engaged in all aspects of community economic development during his 45 years in the field. Through his leadership and collaboration with several networks including Exchange: Inner City, Vancouver and governmental organizations such as the City of Vancouver, he continues to influence the growth of a supportive ecosystem for social enterprise and social procurement in Canada and around the world. He is the Managing Partner of Buy Social Canada, Chair of the Board of the Canadian Council on Social Enterprise, and Board Member of the Social Enterprise World Forum.
