Reconciliation Forum:  2nd Annual Virtual Edition

The Reconciliation Forum is a free community event aimed at inspiring racialized newcomers to understand reconciliation.

Bridging Newcomer and Indigenous Communities by offering a space to discuss Canada’s treaty obligations and offering solidarity to the struggles of Indigenous peoples.This event will highlight Indigenous cultural performances by Inuit, Métis, and First Nation performers. The forum includes a one-hour panel discussion on perspectives and research in relation to reconciliation featuring the following speakers: Dr. Verna St. Denis, Dr. Sheelah McLean, and Dr. Ranjan Datta.AGENDA1:30 pm – Welcome and waiting for everyone to arrive1:35 pm – Prayer by Elder Judy Pelly &amp; Honour Song1:45 pm – Elder Eugene Arcand&#x27;s video – Adam Merasty (Grass Dance)2:00 pm – Panel discussion – Dr. Verna St. Denis – Dr. Sheelah McLean – Dr. Ranjan Datta3:05 pm – Traditional Performances (Inuit, Métis, and First Nations) – Novalinga Duo (Song + History) – Tristan Durocher (Fiddle + History) – Kandis Capulet: Artist statement + Jingle dress dance4:15 pm – Conclusion and Thank Yous4:25 pm - Closing Prayer and Drum Song [Elmer]
