MascallDance has now produced and incited movement creation for 33 years. Our mandate is informed by Mascall's wide-ranging studies and interests in physical motivation, movement and mind/body connections.The company is concerned with dance as an art form and with its significance to our culture.  Many activities are initiated to stimulate dialogue about dance and movement - between professional artists of many disciplines, between artists and non-artists.Any movement idea possible is used to explore and realize an idea.  Our work often questions assumptions, traditions, and styles.  At every level of the company, we intentionally take participants out of their habits and we place high demands on artists and art workers.

Join us for an online weekend workshop from February 5-7 with Rabbi Diane Elliot. 

Schedule (Pacific Standard Time)Friday, Feb. 5, 1-3:30 PM Saturday, Feb. 6, 10 AM-12:30 PM and 4-6:30 PMSunday, Feb. 7, 1-3:30 PMAbout the Workshop Title: Ancestral VoicesAn exploration of the origins and structure of voice in the body, opening internal channels to express and integrate the many voices of our ancestral lineages, as they want to come through each of us in present time. Embodied anatomy and physiology, improvisational dance, Authentic Movement, singing and sounding, writing and conversation will be our doorways in. Open to all levels of voice and movement experience.The workshop (main Zoom room, not the breakout rooms) will be recorded and parts of it might be used for promotional purposes on our website and social media channels. The workshop recording will be shared with all participants.About Rabbi Diane ElliotRabbi Diane Elliot enjoyed a 30-years career as a modern dancer, award-winning choreographer, improviser, movement teacher, and somatic movement therapist, before training for the rabbinate. Currently based in the Bay Area, Diane’s work continues to unfold as a spiritual teacher, ritual leader, dancer, writer, and teacher of Body-Mind Centering®, as she seeks to inspire her students to become clearer channels for Presence through awareness and movement practices, dance, chant, and nuanced interpretations of sacred text. For seven years she directed the ALEPH Alliance for Jewish Renewal’s Embodying Spirit, En-spiriting Body leadership training program, and she continues to work to bring the essential wisdom of the Jewish path to diverse Jewish and interfaith groups.
