TEDxSurrey will be offering an IN-PERSON information session on August 23, 2025 for individuals interested in applying to be a speaker.

NOTE: Registration for this event will close on Friday August 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.TEDxSurrey will take place at the Bell Performing Arts Theater on Saturday January 24, 2026. If you are interested in applying to become a speaker, please read on.Essential Criteria in the Selection of Speakers:The vision of TEDxSurrey is to create a TEDx event that is high-quality, high-impact, and thoroughly professional in all aspects. To be able to accomplish this, there are essential criteria that need to be used in the critical decisions around the selection of speakers.Speakers need to have the following:1. A Compelling IdeaThe speaker’s idea needs to be powerful and impactful. It should inspire people’s hearts and minds and “shift the audience’s thinking” in a significant way.2. Expertise, Experience and a Depth of Understanding of their IdeaThe speaker’s idea needs to be powerful and impactful. It should inspire people’s hearts and minds and “shift the audience’s thinking” in a significant way.3. Experience as a Public SpeakerWe are looking for speakers with a strong stage presence and experience presenting to audiences of a significant size (100 or more), in various settings. If you and your idea fit into the criteria listed above, we invite you to attend one of our two Information Sessions and find out more about TEDxSurrey.Information Meetings will be held for potential speakers on August 20, 2025 on Zoom and on Saturday August 23, 2025 in person. Each session will provide you with the knowledge and resources you need to speak at a TEDx event, and it is expected potential applicants attend either the Zoom session or the in-person session.Information meetings are provided at NO COST.
