María del Socorro Castañeda Díaz est titulaire d'une licence en sciences de la communication de l'Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, campus de Toluca (1988–1993), d'un master en humanités avec une spécialisation en études latino-américaines de l’Université autonome de l’État de Mexico (2014–2016), où elle a reçu le prix de la Meilleure Moyenne Académique, ainsi que d’un doctorat en sciences politiques et sociales avec une spécialisation en sciences de la communication de l’Université nationale autonome du Mexique (2019–2023), qu'elle a obtenu avec une Mention Honorable. Ses recherches portent sur l’identité virtuelle, le langage sur les réseaux sociaux et le transnationalisme numérique. Elle est membre du Système National des Chercheurs (SNII), possède le profil PRODEP-SEP, et occupe actuellement le poste de Professeure à temps plein de niveau « C » à l’Institut des sciences agricoles et rurales de l’Université Autonome de l’État de Mexico.

María del Socorro Castañeda Díaz holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Toluca Campus (1988–1993), a Master's in Humanities with a specialization in Latin American Studies from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (2014–2016), where she received the Best Academic Average award, and a PhD in Political and Social Sciences with a focus on Communication Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (2019–2023), graduating with Honorable Mention. Her research has explored virtual identity, language on social media, and digital transnationalism. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII), holds a PRODEP-SEP profile, and currently serves as a Full-Time Professor “C” at the Institute of Agricultural and Rural Sciences at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico.
