Greenwood Park

Experience the beauty of North Shores Greenwood park during this 2 hour mixed media drawing session focused on botanical art. The session will explore techniques for capturing leaves, flowers, and other foliage in vibrant detail. For the first half, we’ll explore the park to stay warm and get the creativity flowing, starting with warm-up exercises and creative games. Then, we’ll settle in for a longer drawing session where you'll have the opportunity to explore your own unique style and get messy. You’ll be led by me, Becky Hill, an illustrator and artist who’s passionate about connecting with the outdoors. I’ll guide you through simple yet effective techniques for adding texture and depth to your botanical sketches, using a variety of sketching materials and watercolors. All levels are welcome! The drawing sessions is by suggested $15 donation. All proceeds from the workshop will be shared between the workshop facilitator—to help cover the cost of materials—and Colour the Trails, a local organization the facilitator has chosen to support. Advance registration is required. All levels and genders welcome! What We Provide:<ul><li>Sketchbook to take home</li><li>Pencils, pens, colour pencils, crayons, and watercolours</li><li>Cover from the elements (if needed)</li><li>A bunch of other creative souls</li><li>A fun time!</li></ul> What to bring:<ul><li>Comfortable walking shoes</li><li>Warm clothing (layers, jacket, hat)</li><li>Water bottle</li><li>Blanket, mat, or camping chair to sit on. (we will be moving so only bring light weight chairs)</li><li>Snacks</li></ul> This session runs rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather! I believe in the power of creativity to spark change and connect communities.When I’m not creating, you’ll find me climbing up a mountain or riding down it.
