After coffee, the geocaching begins, and we will travel out to the first geocaching site of Saskatchewan.📍 <a href="https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC14F" title="https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC14F" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sask-cache-one (GC14F)</a>Placed in August 2000, this was the first geocache ever hidden in Saskatchewan, and the second geocache placed in all of Canada. Located just 20 km (13 miles) west of Saskatoon, this simple container hidden along a gravel road has become a historical waypoint in the story of a global movement.🚗 Suggested parking for the geocache is at N52 12.122 W107 00.199. From there, it’s a short and peaceful walk to a piece of geocaching history nestled in the prairie. Just use the geocaching.com app on your smart phone.🌾 While you’re here, take time to relish the Saskatchewan landscape. This area is a quiet gem—home to deer, a variety of birds, and seasonal berry bushes. If you walk softly, you might be rewarded with the sight of a doe stepping from the brush or the flutter of a sparrow nearby. It’s a beautiful example of the quiet richness of our province’s natural spaces.🙏 Please be respectful of the land and surroundings. Leave no trace, tread gently, and avoid disturbing plants and wildlife. This geocache has remained accessible and active for 25 years thanks to the care of those who visit it—let’s ensure it stays that way for future adventurers.🌍 Geocaching itself began with a pivotal moment in modern technology. On May 2, 2000, the U.S. government made accurate GPS signals available to the public by flipping the “Blue Switch.” This act enabled the very first geocache—and sparked what would become a global treasure hunt.
