The 2025 Alberta Innovative Trials and Health Research Methods Symposium will be held in person at the Red &amp; White Club (1833 Crowchild Trail NW, Calgary, AB T2M 4R6) with a poster competition and cocktail reception following the formal program. The cocktail reception is a cash bar with snacks provided. About the SymposiumInnovative clinical trials are essential to improving health outcomes but are often complex to design and conduct. Innovative research methods are thus also required to support their development, implementation, and analysis. By using novel methods, innovative trials can generate real-world evidence on the effectiveness of scalable interventions, treatments, and programs. To maximize their impact, they must be embedded within strong implementation science and knowledge mobilization frameworks—ensuring evidence is translated into practice, policy, and equitable decision-making.The Alberta Innovative Trials and Health Research Methods Symposium brings together the health research community to share experiences and strategies for designing, conducting, and analyzing innovative trials that improve health and health systems in Canada and beyond. A variety of presentations will address this year’s theme of “Bringing Evidence Into Practice.” Featured Speakers<ul><li>Dr. Justin Presseau, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute</li><li>Dr. Khara Sauro, University of Calgary</li><li>Dr. Richard Oster &amp; Kienan Williams, Indigenous Wellness Core, University of Alberta, Primary Care Alberta</li><li>Opening and closing by Elder Jackie Bromley</li></ul> Poster CompetitionTrainees and research coordinators are invited to participate in a poster competition held during the symposium. Posters can be on any health research topic, with priority given to those focused on implementation science and knowledge mobilization. Please submit your abstract no later than September 30, 2025.Due to space limitations, a maximum of 28 posters will be accepted. If submissions exceed this number, a review and evaluation process will be used to select the final posters.This is a great opportunity to showcase your work, engage with fellow researchers, and contribute to the symposium’s focus on improving health through science and innovation.Posters must fit a 3.5’H x 5’W poster board (landscape).
