As an English-language cultural centre located in the historical quarter of Quebec City, the Morrin Centre strives to be a leading cultural institution of national standing, providing the Francophone and Anglophone public with rich, engaging programming in the areas of heritage interpretation, education, and the arts.  Building upon our building’s history and key institutions, our programming aims to provide historical perspective on Quebec City’s unique French-English heritage, develop enhanced educational opportunities for youth,  and act as a springboard for artistic creativity.--Le Morrin Centre est un centre culturel de langue anglaise qui fait la promotion du patrimoine de la communauté anglophone à Québec, encourage les échanges culturels et offre une grande variété d’activités, telles que des services de bibliothèque, des visites guidées, des rencontres avec des auteurs, des ateliers d’écriture et un festival d’écrivains. Son édifice de 200 ans, situé au coeur du Vieux-Québec, est géré par la Literary and Historical Society of Quebec et fait partie des lieux historiques nationaux du Canada.

Are you a classical music aficionado? Have you always wondered what it is like to play in a professional orchestra? On Saturday, March 27, we welcome Nick Mahon to our Exchanges with an Expert series. Inspired by the concept of living libraries around the world, these events allow inquisitive members of the public to connect with experts for a casual 10- to 15-minute conversation in a virtual setting.Nick Mahon is a trombonist in the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec. He will be online from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 27. Book your conversation with Mr. Mahon before it sells out!Nick Mahon has been a member of the OSQ since September 2013. He was appointed solo trombone in 2016, and was appointed professor of trombone at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in 2019. Nick appeared as a soloist with the OSQ during the 2017 season, performing the Albrechtsberger Concerto for alto trombone. Born in London, Ontario, Nick studied at the University of Toronto. He participated in many summer festivals, including at the Tanglewood Music Centre and the Music Academy of the West. Nick has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, and many other Canadian orchestras. Nick participated in the 2011 concours OSM, where he was awarded multiple prizes.-------------Êtes-vous fan de la musique classique? Inspirés du concept des bibliothèques vivantes à travers le monde, ces événements permettent aux membres curieux du public de tenir une conversation informelle de 10 à 15 minutes avec un.e expert.e., le tout virtuellement. Nick Mahon est tromboniste à l’Orchestre symphonique de Québec. Il sera en ligne de 13h30 à 15h le samedi 27 mars.Réservez votre conversation avec M. Mahon avant que toutes les places ne s’envolent!Nick Mahon est membre de l’OSQ depuis septembre 2013. Il a été nommé trombone solo en 2016, et professeur de trombone au Conservatoire de musique du Québec en 2019. Nick est apparu comme soliste avec l’OSQ pendant la saison 2017, interprétant le concerto pour trombone alto de Albrechtsberger. Né à London en Ontario, Nick a étudié à l’université de Toronto.
