What is Common Table?

Common Table is a new community dialogue series that invites people to gather, talk, and reflect on the big and small ways we’re navigating life in today’s uncertain world. It’s not a lecture, panel, or formal discussion—it’s a welcoming, participatory space for real conversation among neighbours.

What happens at the event?

Accepted Answer

After a short welcome, participants will help co-create the agenda by proposing any topic or question they’d like to explore. Then we’ll break into small groups for open conversations. We’ll end with a large-group closing circle to reflect and plan next steps.

Question 3

What kind of topics will be discussed?

Accepted Answer

Topics are proposed by participants. For the August session, the theme is "From Talk to Action." Some examples might include: What does action look like in everyday life? How do we move from ideas to impact? What’s already working?  How do we build forward together across differences?

Question 4

Will there be speakers or presentations?

Accepted Answer

Nope! Everyone is invited to speak and listen—no microphones, no panels, no experts. Just people, talking together as equals.

Question 5

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The event is completely free and open to all. Free vegetarian pizza will be provided. Drinks will be available to purchase from MRKTBox or you can bring your own water bottle. We do accept PWYC donations to help cover the cost of refreshments and supplies, though this is not mandatory.
